Hi everyone, I hope you are well :) Today I am going to talk about Grimes.

Claire Elise Boucher, known as Grimes, is a Canadian musician, singer, composer, and visual artist.

Born in March 17, 1988 and raised in Vancouver, Grimes began create music independently late in the first decade of the 2000s, releasing two albums: Geidi Primes and Halfaxa in 2010. Subsequently, she signed with 4AD and became famous with the release of her third studio album Visions (2012), which received the Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year. Her fourth studio album Art Angels (2015) received critical praise and was named the best album of the year by several publications. Her fifth studio album, Miss Anthropocene, was released on February 21, 2020.

About my favorite album, it is difficult to decide on one, each one has a particular visual and musical aesthetic that makes them amazingly incredible. For example, Geidi Primes is a concept album inspired by the science fiction saga Dune. On his second album, Halfaxa, Grimes has said that "it evokes the feeling of believing in God in a very medieval Christian way", and has described it as his "medieval" album. And about Miss Anthropocene, it is a concept album about an "anthropomorphic goddess of climate change" inspired by Roman mythology and villainy.

 The reasons that lead me to choose a Grimes as one of my favorite musician are many. 

• Her music is a kind of synth pop or electro pop that has been changing quite a bit throughout his career, incorporating elements of varied styles and genres including dream pop, R&B, electronic music, and hip hop.

• Her interest in physics, space and artificial intelligence is reflected in her videos, most of them produced by herself.  

• She does almost everything related to her music, the cover desing of her albums and the production and composition of her songs.

• She started making music at the age of 23, which breaks a bit with the myth that all musicians have to be prodigies who play instruments from a young age.

• In his videos, Grimes often refers to the anime, for example in the scenography of the video of Delete Forever Delete Forever  inspired by the throne of Akira, or in the video of Idoru where she takes some scenes from the  Revolutionary Girl Utena, an anime that brings together many themes such as feminism and lesbianism.

Curious fact: Grimes gave birth on May 5, 2020. The child's father is her boyfriend Elon Musk, a billionaire magnate and CEO of Tesla. Her son's name is X Æ A-12 😮and in the next tweet explain what it means.

About my favorite musical genres, in general are shoegaze, dream pop, synth pop, chillwave, and ambient music. However, I listen to many styles of music.
